Letter from IOH
Hello!!We are ALMOST ready to lock and merge!! We should be ready to go in the early AM tomorrow!
Thank you for your patience, we REALLY appreciate it! We have a few more families to check-in with and determine swimmer(s) status. We look forward to hosting you all Tuesday at our pool.
Here are some notes about meets at IOH: Address: 407 Parkersburg Road, Savannah, GA 31406 Theme: NEON! We will need 8 timers (4 for the 1st shift and 4 for the second shift). We have 1-2 officials on our end, if you have any let us know! If you have anyone on your team that would like to support our data entry team, great! We have heat winner and runners covered! Due to the size and formatting of our pool, and the size of both teams, we do have some very strict rules that must be followed. There will not be exceptions, and these rules apply to BOTH teams. We have enforced this rule/event flow for 3 years now, and it has tremendously helped our meets. It works, and yes it sounds extreme when typed out. It is not so bad, and it makes a ton of sense when you are here! Due to the size of our pool and deck, ALL families are asked to set-up OUTSIDE the pool fence. You can see the meet through the fence, so no worries about feeling completely closed off! NO families or swimmers from either team are permitted to set-up within the deck area. We would like to offer you all the IOH parking lot, and we have asked our families to park at neighboring churches and across the street. We also would like to offer you all seating/set-up in the grassy area closest to the pool, between the parking lot and pool. Parents and spectators should absolutely enter the pool deck when their child is swimming! Please enjoy your swimmer(s)! Then kindly exit the deck when your child is not swimming. If everyone follows this rule, everyone can actually SEE their child swim, and be close to them while swimming. It also allows coaches to watch and support the meet, as well as timers, runners, and bullpen to move efficiently. We need a smooth-running meet, and this is a HUGE element that makes that happen. We will have plenty of speakers and a meet commentator, so everyone will be able to hear what is happening, so there is less confusion. Even outside the deck, you will be able to clearly hear. Please do share this with your parents. We do not want any hurt feelings when they are asked to set-up outside. Set up outside, come inside to watch your child(ren) swim! It is THAT easy. We have a lot of kids under the age of 12 swimming this meet, so we need good flow on the deck! Please bring whatever you want to be comfortable at the meet: chairs, blankets, etc.!
Food: Our amazing grilling team of volunteers will be on site grilling. They will be selling items from the menu below with payment via Venmo @iohsharks (preferred) or cash (exact change is best). The IOH Pool Snack Shack will NOT be open. You may absolutely bring your own food and beverages. Please stay hydrated! Menu: Hot Dog Combo 1 (Hot dog, chip and water) = $6 Hot Dog Combo 2 (Hot dog, chip sports drink) = $8 Sweet Treat (Air Heads or Gummies) = 2 for $1 Water = $1 Sports Drink = $2
